Beau Mills

Beau Mills, son of Boston Red Sox bench coach Brad Mills was born on August 15th 1986 in Visalia, California. He is a left handed 3B/1B for the Cleveland Indians who spent the last season playing for the Kinston Indians.

The Indians 2007 1st round draft choice 13th overall is one to get excited for. He has plus power and the potential to hit for a good average at the next level as well. He is pretty patient so he draws his fair share of walks as well as strikeouts. He is a leader by example and because of his background in baseball he has good baseball instincts.

He had a great full season at Kinston this past season. He hit .293/.373/.506 with 21 homeruns, 90 RBI, 34 doubles, 54 BB and 105 K's in 482.

He should start next season at Akron in the middle of their order. If he takes the next step and plays at Akron like he did at Kinston he will become a big time prospect in all of baseball. He was also the 2008 recipient of the Carolina League MVP.
