Hector Luis Rondon, born on February 26 1988 in Guatire, Venezuela. He is a right handed pitching prospect in the Indians organization. This past season he pitched for the Indians high A Kinston team and participated in the Futures Game.
Hector possesses one of the better fastballs in the Indians orgainization reaching the mid 90's. It compliments his potential great curveball and decent changeup. The big thing Rondon has going for him is his great control. In 2007 he pitched 136.0 innings he only walked 27 and in 2008 he pitched 145.0 innings and only walked 42.
He will most likely be anchoring the Aeros rotation next season at a very young age of 21 after a season at Kinston where he went 11-5 with 3.60 ERA and 145 strikeouts.
Being only 20 years old and 6'3" 175 pounds he still has pleanty of time to add more muscle to his frame and possibly add a few more MPH to his fastball. So a comparison right now wouldn't fair to him b/c we aren't completely sure what kind of pitcher he will become.
