David Huff was born August 22 1984 in San Diego, California. He is a left handed pitching prospect in the Cleveland Indians organization. He spent this past season between AA and AAA.
David Huff is another good left handed starting pitcher in the Indians organization who doesn't light up the radar gun. But unlike Sowers, Laffey, and Lewis... Huff does consistently keep his fastball in the 91-93 range. He has the best changeup in the Indians organization which explains his unusually high strikeout rate for a finesse lefty.
This past season between AA and AAA he went 11-5 with a 2.52 ERA in 146.1 innings of work while striking out 143 and only walking 29.
David should go into Spring Training and be fighting for a spot in the rotation. If he does not win one, he should open the season as the opening day starter for the Columbus Clippers in their first game as the Indians minor league affiliate.
