Josh Tomlin

I don't care what anybody says about Josh Tomlin the fact of the matter is ever since the Indians drafted him in the 19th round out of a CC in Texas, Josh has done nothing but win and put up good numbers.

Josh Tomlin was born October 19th 1984 in Angelina, Texas. He is a right handed pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. He was drafted in the 19th round of the 2006 draft by the Tribe.

Josh is another one of those guys who does not light up the radar gun, theres nothing to special about his secondary stuff, and he's not exactly intimidating at 6'1" 195lbs but for some reason he just keeps winning. His fastball is at about 85-88 MPH and he has been flip flopping between starting and relief work since being drafted.

He really turned some heads in the Indians organization this season with a great spot start for AAA Buffalo where he went 7 innings giving up 3 in a win.

In his professional career he is 29-11 with an ERA that has never been above 3.86 at any level.

He looks to open this season at AA Akron and maybe he'll be starting or maybe he'll be pitching out of the pen. One things for certain he will win.

Wes Hodges

Wes Hodges was born on September 14th 1984 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is currently a right handed 3B in the Cleveland Indians. He was drafted by the Indians in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft.

Wes can just flat out hit. He was one of the best pure hitters coming out of college and probably would have been a 1st round pick if a leg injury hadn't slowed him down. He right now doesn't display great power but he does have the potential to hit 20 homeruns.

To me his defense is a mystery. If you look at the stats he makes a TON of errors (28 errors) but having seen him in person I saw him make 2 or 3 really good plays. However he was throwing balls into the dirt during the warmups between innings.

Wes Hodges may be the one thing standing in the way of the Indians wanting to move Jhonny Peralta to 3B seeing as he is on the horizon. He should start this season at AAA Columbus and being the middle of a scarry offensive club.

Jeff Stevens

Jeff Steven will always be remembered as the infamous player to be named later in the deal that sent Brandon Phillips to the Cincinnati Reds. At least Jeff might be able to help some of those wounds heal if he continues his outstanding play.

Jeff Stevens was born on September 5th 1983 in Berkley, California. He is a right handed pitching prospect for the Cleveland Indians organization. As stated above he was the PTNL in the Brandon Phillips deal.

When Jeff first came to the Indians he was a decent starting pitcher but since the Indians moved him to the bullpen full time he has blossomed into a legitimate prospect. He doesn't have an over powering fastball (92-93 MPH) but it is complimented very well by a devastating slider he uses to accumulate his strikeout totals.

Between AA and AAA last season Jeff went a combined 5-4 with a 3.24 ERA in 58.1 innings striking out 81 and walking 27.

He looks to open the season in the back end of Columbus's bullpen and possibly get a shot at cracking the Tribes bullpen.

Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana was born on April 8th 1986 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is a switch hitting catcher in the Cleveland Indians organization. He came to the Indians in the Casey Blake trade along with right hander John Meloan.

He is a very good offensively minded catcher. He is probably one of the most patient hitters in the Indians organization. He displays good power numbers and even though he has only been a catcher for a little over two years is pretty good defensively.

He was named player of the year for Single A and if you look at the stats he put up you can see why. Here they are... he hit between the Indians and Dodgers .326/.431/.568 with 21 homeruns 117 RBI and a 85:89 K:BB Ratio.

After obliterating Single A pitching Carlos looks like he should be in the middle of the order for the Akron Aeros. It is quite possible he could even reach AAA if he puts up numbers like he did in Single A.

Matt Laporta

Matt Laporta was born January 8th 1985 and is a 1B/OF prospect within the Indians organization. He was acquired along with Michael Brantley, Zack Jackson, and Rob Bryson in the CC Sabathia deal.

Matt is probably one of the best prospects in all of baseball. I have loved him ever since I made my second draft of my 2007 MLB Mock Draft. I had him being taken by the Indians with their 13th pick but he was unfortunately taken by the Brewers with the 7th.

He has tremendous power and is simply a natural at the plate. He has great plate discipline and good approach at the plate. He does not run very fast but he is still a very good athlete. He came to Florida as a catcher and moved him around till they found a pretty good position for him at first base. When he was drafted by the Brewers however the moved him to the OF since they all ready had Prince. For now he is an OF for the Indians but could be switched back to 1B if Garko struggles this season at first.

Matt should look to start the season in the OF for the Clippers. If he has a good month there you could very well expect to see him in the majors shortly there after.
